Ahmed Holds Talks with Denish Dev’t Minister
ADDIS ABABA – Minister of Finance Ahmed Shide met with Danish Minister for Development Cooperation, Flemming Moller Mortensen, to discuss development cooperation between their nations.
The two ministers discussed various bilateral programs and current political and economic affairs in Ethiopia, including the good progress toward peace, and interventions on food security, and livelihoods.
Speaking to Mortensen, Finance Minister Ahmed acknowledged Denmark’s long standing partnership and commitment, thanking its continued development assistance for Ethiopia during the conflict.
Ahmed also briefed the Danish Minister on the government’s ongoing recovery planning and resource mobilization efforts to support the conflict affected regions, and indicated the need for assistance to adequately execute the plan.
The Danish Minister, on his part, highlighted Denmark’s priority to support a stable Ethiopia and encouraged the measures taken toward this goal and the sustained efforts on humanitarian assistance in Northern Ethiopia.
The two Ministers reaffirmed mutual commitment to continue and strengthen cooperation activities between the two countries, according to the ministry of finance.
