Covid-19: Ethiopia Reports 39 More Cases, Zero Fatalities
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 39 new infections of Covid-19 and four recoveries on Thursday, a ministry of health report shows.
The country confirmed today’s positive cases after testing close to 3, 600 people in the last twenty-four hours. Four patients have also recuperated from the disease in the reported period, the ministry says.
The rise in the daily infections has slightly pushed the confirmed active cases count by 35 to 7,454.
Health officials update shows severe cases total remains the same as it was in the previous 24-hours. Five Covid-19 patients are seriously sick and are staying in the treatment centers.
The Ministry has also reported zero Covid-19 disease related deaths today.
This has extended the number of days without confirmed deaths to 15 as the National death toll remains at 7, 510.
Ethiopia last recorded deaths linked to Covid-19 on April 20, 2022.
The pace of the vaccination drive is still at a standstill. Ethiopia has administered nearly 29.4 million COVID-19 vaccine doses since it launched the vaccine drive in March, 2021. More than 24.5 million of its citizens are fully vaccinated.
The East African nation confirmed its first Coronavirus case in March, 2020. It has so far reported 470, 686 infections after testing over 4.8 million. At least 455, 720 patients have already recovered from the disease.
