Ethiopia Reports 38 Infections, Severe Cases Fall to 5

ADDIS ABABA – Cumulative severe cases of Covid-19 further has dropped to 5 as Ethiopia records 38 more Covid-19 infections on Wednesday, health officials say.

The ministry of health report today shows at least four seriously sick Covid-19 patients have been discharged from hospital in the last twenty-four hours. There are now only five severe cases getting treatment in medical centers.

The nation also confirmed 38 new infections from more than 4, 000 people tested for coronavirus in the 24-hours period.

At the same time, only five patients have recuperated from the disease.

The increase in new daily infections today has made the confirmed cases of Covid-19 to jump by 33 to 7, 419.

Health officials also reported zero Coronavirus related fatalities on Monday, extending the number of days without confirmed deaths to 14.

Ethiopia last recorded deaths linked to Covid-19 on April 20, 2022. The Covid death toll currently stands at 7, 510.

The pace of the vaccination campaign remains stagnant today, as well. Ethiopia has administered nearly 29.4 million COVID-19 vaccine doses since it launched the vaccine drive in March, 2021. More than 24.5 million of its citizens are fully vaccinated.
