Addis Ababa to Host Four Int’l Trade Fairs Next Year

ADDIS ABABA – Trade & Fairs Consulting GMBH, a German company, said it will host four international trade fairs in Addis Ababa next year.

Trade & Fairs Consulting GMBH will organise the events in collaboration with Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations.



The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding to collaboratively host the events in the capital on Thursday.

The four trade fairs will be held in the coming 2022/23 Ethiopian budget year, according to Addis Chamber.

The scheduled events involve the 8th Africa Sourcing & Fashion Week, Perfora Africa, Made in Germany, Africa Home Finance & show.

The trade events are expected to bring several international companies engaged in textile, fashion, furniture, leather to Ethiopia and show their products and services.

These trade shows would boost the government’s effort to boost conference tourism, said Sileshi Girma, state Minister of Tourism, speaking at a press briefing together with officials from the German Embassy, Africa Union, Trade & Fairs Consulting GMBH and Addis Chamber.

The state minister said a number of strategic measures have been implemented to further develop the country’s tourism sector.

This includes setting up Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) centers in a bid to boost the hosting capacity of the nation.



Speaking about the ‘Made in Germany’ event in particular, Stephen Auer, Ambassador of Germany to Ethiopia, said that the event will benefit the entire African business companies, traders, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and other agents of Africa, according to Ethiopian press agency.

Over 150 manufacturers and exporters will show their products to over 5,000 African trade professionals, investors, diplomats and other different stakeholders, according to EPA.
