Ethiopia Logs 25 Covid Infections, Zero related Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – The ministry of health has today reported 25 new COVID-19 cases and zero related deaths in Ethiopia.

The new infections, identified from over 5,300 tests conducted in the past twenty-four hours, take the confirmed cases total to 469,704, says its report for Wednesday.



No Covid-induced fatalities have been recorded in the reported period as the length of days with zero deaths extends to four. The national death toll remains at 7,492, says the report.

The East African nation also continues to report significantly higher recovery cases.

As many as 1,970 patients have regained their health in the reported period, pushing the recovery count to 441,083.

The increase in recovery brings the active cases total down to 21,127, reveals the report. It also says that at least 15 patients are seriously sick.

– Vaccine Drive –

Despite a slowing new infections trend, public health officials are still advising people to be vigilant and observe covid-19 protocols including wearing face masks.

They are also urging the public to take the vaccine shots from nearby health centers as the country continues to offer the Covid vaccine.



In the past 24-hours, nearly 29,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered, the report says.

This figure has taken the total doses given in the country so far to 29.4 million. Over 24.5 million people are also fully vaccinated against the virus, the report says.
