COVID-19: Ethiopia Records Zero Deaths, 35 New Cases

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded zero daily Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease related deaths and 35 new infections on Monday, a ministry of health report claims.

This is for two consecutive days that the country reported zero Covid-19 fatality as the national death total stays at 7,492.

The nation has also registered 35 more Covid-19 cases from over 4, 700 people tested in the past twenty four hours, the report says.

The latest positive infections figure has brought the confirmed cases tally in the country, so far, to 469, 656.

More than 437, 000 of them have recovered from the acute respiratory disease.

Nearly 2, 000 of the recoveries have been recorded in the last twenty-four hours, the Ministry of health report says.

The increase in the recovery tally, coupled with significantly low new daily infections has brought the active cases tally to 25, 000.

About 11 patients are severely sick, and are getting medical treatments in medical centers, the report notes.

After a pause in the past two days, health officials have restarted offering the Covid vaccine today.

Over 5, 000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the past 24-hours, the Ministry report.

The latest figure has taken the number of shots of vaccine given in the country close to 29.4 million.

More than 24.5 million Ethiopians are fully vaccinated against the virus, says the ministry which administered the first Covid-19 vaccine in the country in March, 2021.
