ADDIS ABABA – Officials of Rimorchiatori Riuniti, an Italian Shipping Company, visited Ethiopia where they explored opportunities in the transport and logistics sector.
The visit came nearly two months after its top officials met with the Ethiopian ambassador to Italy and expressed their interest to invest in the East African country.
In Addis Ababa on Tuesday, the company and its partner held discussion with Transport Minister Dagmawit Moges.
The minister briefed the visiting team about the activities that the government is undertaking to create a favorable atmosphere for investors.
The government is committed to supporting the shipping firm’s engagement in the transport and logistics sector of Ethiopia, Dagmawit told them.
The Rimorchiatori Riuniti delegation, for its part, expressed interest in looking forward to developing promising business in Ethiopia.
“Looking forward to developing promising business here,” the company said in a brief social media post after the meeting.
The Genoa-based Rimorchiatori Riunti Group is a major shipping, logistics and transport company that owns and operates ports across Europe including Italy, Greece, Malta, and UK.
