COVID-19: Ethiopia Reports Zero Deaths, 14 Cases
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded zero daily Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease related deaths on Monday, a ministry of health report reveals.
This is for two consecutive days that the country reported zero Covid-19 fatality. The national death toll stays at 7,489, according to the report.
The nation has also registered 14 news Covid-19 cases after testing 3,150 people in the past twenty four hours.
To date , the nation, which reported its first Coronavirus infection two years ago in March, has so far confirmed 469, 469 cases, the report says.
It also says more than 1,800 patients have also recuperated from the disease in the reported period, pushing the recovery tally to 423, 444.
The increase in the recovery tally, coupled with significantly low new daily infections has brought the active cases total below 40, 000 for the first time in the year 2022.
There are now 38, 534 confirmed active cases of Covid-19 nationwide. Of these, 36 patients are severely sick, the report notes.
Ethiopia has also pushed ahead with its vaccination campaign that started a year ago. Nearly 17, 000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the past 24-hours, the report indicates.
The latest figure has taken the number of doses given in the country so far close to 29.23 million. About 24.47 million Ethiopians are also fully vaccinated against the virus.
