Italian Court Jails Man to 20 years for Murder of Agitu Gudeta

ADDIS ABABA – An Italian court on Monday sentenced a man to 20 years in prison for rape and murder of his employer Agitu Gudeta, an Ethiopian migrants.

The man, Suleiman Adams, was sentenced to 15 years and eight months for murder and four years and four months for sexual violence, reported Italian wire service ANSA today.



Agitu, 42-year-old, was attacked and murdered by the seasonal worker she had hired at Frassilongo in Italy’s Trentino on December 29, 2020.

Adams, an immigrant from Ghana, confessed to the crimes.

Agitu, known as ‘”Queen of Happy Goats”, was a national symbol of environmentalism and successful refugee integration into Italian society, hailed by the press and politicians, adds ANSA.
