The latest infection figure, identified from 4,238 people tested in the last twenty-four hours, has taken the number of confirmed cases to 467, 575, the report indicates.

Ethiopia’s Covid-19 related deaths total has also reached 7,426 after two people died in the reported period due to the virus.

There are now 51,081 confirmed active cases nationwide. Of these, the Ministry says at least 160 have been hospitalized after they become severely sick.

As many as 160 patients have also recuperated from the acute respiratory disease in the 24-hours period, taking the recovery tally to more than 409, 000.

The national vaccine drive has remained stagnant as the total doses administered in the country remains the same as the previous day as per the report.

The number, however, is expected to significantly increase in the coming weeks, with the nation launching a second round vaccine drive on Monday.

The Ministry, which began offering the vaccine to citizens on March 13 last year, has so far administered over 10.97 doses of vaccine.

Nearly 9.4 Million Ethiopians have been fully vaccinated, according to the ministry.
