Ethiopia Registers 166 More Covid-19 Cases

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 166 more Covid-19 infections and one related death on Saturday, its ministry of health reports.

The positive infections, confirmed from 9,631people tested on the day, takes the national confirmed cases tally to 466, 455.



Only one Covid-related fatalities have also been confirmed in the same day, bringing the death toll to 7, 356.

There are now 58, 363 active cases in the country. At least 232 of them are severely sick and are getting medical attention.

About 360 Covid patients have recuperated, says the report that puts the country’s recovery count at 400,734.

Health experts are strongly urging the public to observe the health protocol put in place to prevent themselves from the disease including wearing face masks and getting vaccinated.



The vaccine drive continues to stagnate as the total doses of Covid-19 vaccine administered remains the same as the past two previous days.

The country, which began offering the vaccine to its citizens on March 13 last year, has administered over 10.97 doses of vaccine.

A total of 9,372, 107 people have also been fully vaccinated, according to the ministry of health.
