Ethiopia Reports 228 More Covid Infections, 6 Fatalities

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered 533 fresh infections of Covid-19 on Monday, its ministry of health reports.

The new infections, identified from 3,830 people tested in the last twenty-four hours, take the national confirmed cases total to 465, 158.

The Covid death toll has also reached 7,337 after the six more Covid-related fatalities recorded in the reported period.

The country now has 59, 374 confirmed active Covid-19 cases. Of these, the report says 272 are severely sick and getting medical treatments in hospitals.

The report also says 659 patients have recuperated from the disease in the past 24-hours, taking the recovery tally to 398,445.

After a two-day pause in vaccine delivery, the country has given nearly 2,000 doses of Covid vaccines to the public, according to data from the ministry.

The ongoing vaccine drive started on March 13, 2021.

To date, officials have administered more than 10.975 million doses nationwide and vaccinated over 9.37 million people fully.
