Ethiopia Reports 533 More Covid Infections, 15 Fatalities

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered 533 fresh infections of Covid-19 and 15 related deaths on Tuesday, reports its ministry of health.

The latest positive cases, identified from close to 7000 tests conducted in the last twenty-four hours, takes country’s confirmed cases total to 463, 047.



The East African nation has also recorded fifteen additional Coronavirus-induced fatalities in the reported period, pushing the national death toll to 7,280.

The severe cases tally has dropped by nine compared to the previous twenty-four hours.

There are now 352 severely sick patients receiving medical treatments in hospitals, says the report that puts country’s confirmed active cases count at 66,690.

As many as 1,057 patients have also recuperated from Covid-19 in the past 24-hours, bringing the recovery tally to more than 389,000.



The Ministry of health has not reported new data regarding national vaccine drive as the total vaccines provided to the public remains the same as the previous day.

The country started offering the Covid vaccine to its citizens on March 13, 2021. To date, it has administered more than 10.97 million doses nationwide while fully vaccinating over 9.37 million people.
