Ethiopia records 1, 514 new COVID-19 cases

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia recorded 1, 514 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 over the past day, the government said on Saturday, down slightly from the figure recorded on Friday.

Over the past twenty-four hours, the country has tested 19, 194 people for the virus to identify the latest positive cases, according to the Ministry of Health.



A further 12 people have also died within the reported period of testing positive for the disease, it added.

The country currently has 30, 7660 active cases. This includes 329 serious cases, according to the Ministry .

Over the reportedperiod, at least 700 patients have recovered from the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 18, 116 patients.

The East African nation has been increasing the number of tests it is conducting. To date, the nation tested nearly 870, 000 people and confirmed 49, 654 cases including 770 deaths.
