Nine People Die in Two Separate Traffic Accidents in a Day

ADDIS ABABA – Nine people died and fifteen others injured in two separate traffic accidents on Tuesday, Police say.

The road accidents occurred in the West Arsi and Bale Goba zones of Oromia Regional State of Ethiopia today.

West Arsi Zone Police said five people were killed after an Isuzu truck was overturned in Lege Bilika, Dodola.



The truck loaded with potato was transporting passengers and goods together from Dodola to Shashemene town, according to the police.

His assistant and the driver of the truck – plate number 3:35772 Oro – could survive the deadly accident but sustained major injuries, said the police.

They are now receiving medical attention in Dodola Hospital, said the Police.

Similarly, another deadly traffic accident, involving a minibus, was occurred in Bale Goba Zone around 11:00a.m. today.



Four people immediately died after the minibus – plate number 3:43678 Oro – veered out of the main road and crashed.

Thirteen passengers sustained various degrees of injuries and were taken to Goba Referral hospital for medical treatment.
