Coronavirus: Ethiopia Records 791 Fresh Cases

ADDIS ABABA – Ministry of Health on Saturday reported 791 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), bringing Ethiopia’s confirmed infections tally to 375, 810.

Two more Coronavirus-related fatalities and 47 recoveries in the same day, taking the death toll to 6, 861 and recoveries count to 350, 824, revealed a Ministry of health report.

The confirmed active cases count continues to rise as the fresh daily infections tally outnumber the recoveries.

There are now a little over 18, 100 active cases of Covid-19 nationwide. Of these, 150 are severely sick Covid-19 patients who are receiving medical treatments, according to the report.

Vaccine Drive

The East African nation has continued to push ahead with their national vaccine drive on Saturday as part of its response to curve the spread of the disease.

Nearly 22, 000 doses of Covid vaccine were offered to the public on Saturday, pushing the total doses administered in Ethiopia to more than 10.6 million.

Ministry of Health started offering the vaccine to its citizens on March 13, this year. Since then, a total of 9, 164, 042 people have been fully against the acute respiratory disease.
