ADDIS ABABA – Development Minister Fitsum Assefa and Germany’s top envoy in Ethiopia, Ambassador Stephan Auer, met on Thursday to discuss about the cooperation between the two countries, said Planning and Development Ministry said.
During the meeting, Fitsum cherished Germany’s development support and cooperation with Ethiopia.
She also briefed the Ambassador on the progress of the implementation of the 10-year development plan, the ministry said in a statement.
The issue was a subject of similar discussion the minister had with Ethiopia’s Development Partners Group (DPG) on Monday.
Ambassador Auer, on his part, said that German will continue to be partner in Ethiopia’s development endeavour. expressing his country’s support to the government in the political and economic reform programs.
Germany support the leadership of the prime minister Abiy Ahmed, the statement quotes the Ambassador as saying at the meeting.
It is also committed to continuing to work with the Ethiopian government, he added.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to strengthen the cooperation in the future through investment and development programs in various sectors, said the Ministry.
