Coronavirus: Ethiopia Records 128 Fresh Cases, 4 Fatalities

ADDIS ABABA – Ministry of Health has reported 128 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) on Tuesday, bringing Ethiopia’s confirmed infections tally to 372, 462.

In its daily update, the ministry says close to 5, 400 people have been tested in the last twenty-four hours to identify the latest positive cases.



The country has also recorded four more Coronavirus-related fatalities and 111 recoveries in the reported period, taking the death toll to 6, 808 and recoveries count to 349, 846.

There are now a little over 15, 800 confirmed active cases of Covid-19 nationwide.

The report shows 192 of them are severely sick and are getting medical treatments as the number of severe cases drop below 200 for the firs time in months.

Vaccine drive

The East African nation has continued to push ahead with their national vaccine drive on Tuesday as part of the government’s response to curve the spread of the disease.



Today’s report shows that as many as 92, 209 doses of Covid vaccine have been offered to the public in the past 24-hours.

The new figure has pushed the number of doses administered in the country so far to a total of 10, 228, 230.

Ethiopia’s Health ministry started offering the vaccine to its citizens on March 13, this year. Since then, more than 8.77 million people have been fully against the acute respiratory disease.
