Bank Robbery Suspects Nabbed Hours After Getting Away with 2.1mln Birr
ADDIS ABABA – Addis Ababa Police on Friday said three suspects were arrested on Thursday hours after they robbed more than 2.1 million birr from a Bank in the capital.
According to police, the suspects got into the Hibret Bank’s CMC Branch after Wednesday midnight with the help of one of the two security guards deployed for a night shift.
After beating the other guard and tying his hand and feet, the suspects broke into the bank, robbing a total of 2, 100, 996 birr, 900 US dollars, 65 Dirham and nine mobile phones.
The suspects fled the area using a Toyota Corolla with plate number 93926 (Code 2) AA.
However, Police said all suspects were arrested with all the cash and the vehicle they used hours after they committed the crime.
