COVID-19: Ethiopia Reports 608 New Cases, 29 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 608 more novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) infections and 29 fatalities on Saturday,  the Ministry of health says.

In its daily Covid-19 report, the ministry says the country conducted more than 6, 500 tests in the last twenty four hours to identify the latest positive cases.

The Covid-19 death toll has also reached 5, 950 after 29 people passed away due to the acute respiratory disease in the same period.

There are now 26, 068 confirmed active cases of Covid-19 nationwide. Of which, 736 patients are severely sick, reveals the report.

Only 318 patients have recuperated from the disease in the reported period, bringing the recovery count to 322, 013.

Close to 2, 500 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the last 24-hours, the report says.

Ethiopia started inoculating its citizens on March 13, 2021. To date, it has vaccinated nearly 2, 96 million people against the Coronavirus.
