Abiy Appoints 61 Deputy Ministers, Commissioners

ADDIS ABABA – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has appointed 61 officials to various high level federal positions including state finance and foreign ministers.

The new appointments include State Ministers for 22 ministerial institutions and Office of the Prime Minister.



Abiy also appointed Samuel Urkato as Commissioner of Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission while Mekuria Haile became Commissioner for Civil Service Commission.

Two appointees are drawn from contending parties; Mother Party and Freedom and Equality Party, Tirumar Abate as Plan and Development State Minister and Nebya Mohammed Works and Skills Development Ministry, respectively.
