State Council Appoints Awol Arba President of Afar Region

ADDIS ABABA – The newly formed Council of Afar Regional State has elected Awol Arba as president of the region.

The appointment on Thursday would allow Awol to continue as governor of the North East regional state of Ethiopia.

The council also elected Asiya Kemal and Meirem Mohammed as Speaker and deputy speaker of the House, respectively.
