Adanech Abeibei re-elected as Mayor of Addis Ababa

ADDIS ABABA – Adanech Abiebie has been elected to serve as Addis Abeba mayor, replacing Adanch Abiebie.

Addis Ababa City Council unanimously re-elected Adanech during its first ever session held at the City Hall today.

Adanech became the first woman mayor of the city after replacing Takele Uma in August, 2020.

The first meeting of the new Addis Ababa Administration has also elected Buzena Al-Kader and Faiza Mohammed as the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the city council, respectively.
