Addis Ababa to form New Administration Tomorrow

ADDIS ABABA – Addis Abeba City Council is set to form a new administration tomorrow that will govern the municipality for the next five years.

The ruling Prosperity Party registered a landslide victory in the Jun 20 Election, securing all 138 seats of the council.

The newly elected Council will hold its first ever session on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021.

During the session, the press secretary of the city said the Council will elect officials and members of cabinets.

The council is also expected to appoint a house speaker as well as form various standing committees.

Regional states and cities are announcing their scheduals to form their administrations ahead of the establishment of the federal government on October 4, 2021.

Last week, the Oromia regional state (Caffe Oromia) conducted its session and elected the region’s officials including the president – Shimelis Abidisa.
