ADDIS ABABA – Huge crowds have voiced their support for the national defence force of Ethiopia in a rally held on Thursday morning at Addis Ababa’s Meskel Square.
The demonstrators expressed their support for the national defence force that clashed with forces of the TPLF, a group Ethiopian parliament recently labeled as terrorist, for months.
The rally was attended by government officials, including Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa city, Adanech Abiebie.
Speaking at the event, Adanech said “our internal and external enemies are working jointly to derail our reform process and journey to prosperity.”
“Together with our people, we will defeat these enemies who are striving to undermine our sovereignty, weaken our unity and deter our journey to prosperity,” she said.
