Addis to Host Made in Germany-Africa Trade Fair
The Made in Germany-Africa trade fair is set to be held in Addis Ababa to provide a platform for key African industries to enhance multilateral ties with their German counterparts.
The event will provide “a unique opportunity to discuss and refresh these major relationships”, the embassy of Germany to Ethiopia said in a statement today.
The three-day event at Skylight Hotel will open be opened for visitors and participants beginning March 2, 2023.
“With its high-end visitor profile and a large proportion of decision-makers, this special event will attract not only exhibitors but also conference attendees as well as diplomats,” the statement read.
More than 2,500 Germans as well as African professionals, investors, diplomats, and government personnel are expected to attend the event.
The expo, dubbed by the embassy as “Germany’s biggest event in Africa”, will also showcase leading brands, products & services planned for the African market.
Visitors will meet with leading German companies engaged in infrastructure, clean cities, building systems, environmental solutions, digitalization, and manufacturing of machines.
Several conferences are also scheduled to be held as part of the expo including a meeting between German and African experts on solutions for African educational institutions.
Financing projects, leasing machines for agro-processing, and other finance topics will also be discussed with the World Bank, IMF, and the German KfW Bank.
“Some of the other discussion points will include the new important European and German regulations for Ethiopian and African exporters,” the embassy said.
Made in Germany-Africa is organized by the Trade and Fairs Group and the German Embassy in Addis Ababa, with the support of the German Ministry of Trade and Climate Protection as well as the government of Ethiopia.
