Ethio Telecom Launches 4G LTE Mobile Network in 12 Towns

ADDIS ABABA – Ethio Telecom said it has launched the LTE Advanced 4G mobile network in 12 towns and cities, where high mobile data traffic has been observed.

Hawassa, Shashemene, Yirgalem, Aleta Wondo, Dila, Arsi Negele, Negele, Adola, Bulehora, Yabelo, Moyale and Shakiso are where the cities and towns where the telcom company launched the service on Tuesday.



Frehiwot Tamru, CEO of Ethio telecom, said the launch of the service will have a significant contribution for the growth and prosperity of the nation.

According to her, the 4G mobile network was launched in 65 towns/cities over the past 5 months alone.

The latest launch is a part of telecom company’s plan to expand the 4G LTE service to 103 cities across the country.

Currently, Ethio Telecom has 55.4 million service clients.
