Ethiopia, Cuba Keen to Cooperate in Science and Technology Sector

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Cuba Shibru Mamo held discussion with Cuba’s Minister of Science, Technology, and Environment (CITMA), Elba Rosa Perez Montoya.

During their meeting on Tuesday, the two sides discussed ways to implement the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Ethiopia and Cuba on Science and Technology.



The two sides have also deliberated on various issues of cooperation in science and technology including biotechnology, meteorology, and astronomy, said Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.

On the occasion, Ambassador Shibru briefed the Minister on the upcoming election, GERD, Ethio-Sudan Border dispute, and the ongoing humanitarian assistance and rehabilitation activities in the northern region of Ethiopia, Tigray.

Finally, Elba Rosa Perez Montoya proposed to arrange virtual meetings between the Cuban Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment as well as representatives of other ministries or institutions from different sectors depending on the interests of Ethiopia and their counterparts, reads the ministry’ statement.
