ADDIS ABABA – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has appointed Mohamed Idris Mohamed as the Director-General of Ethiopian Broadcast Authority on Monday.
Mohamed replaced Getachew Dinku, who resigned from the post in March. Getachew, journalism instructor at Addis Ababa University, had been leading EBA for about three years after he was appointed by Prime Minister Abiy in May 2028.
As of Monday, April 5, 2021, Mohamed has been appointed as Head of the Authority, disclosed the PM Office said in a statement.
In addition, the office said the PM has appointed two more people – Yonatan Tesfaye and Gizaw Tesfaye – to serve as deputy of the Authority.
