Ethiopia Records 1, 483 more Covid-19 Cases, 30 deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 1, 483 more Covid-19 cases and 30 related deaths on Saturday.

In its daily covid report, Ministry of Health about 7, 700 people have been tested over the past twenty-four hours to identify the new positive cases.



Additional 30 people have passed away  due to COVID-related complications on the day.

The tally has pushed the death toll to 2, 540 in the country where the first COVID-19 related death reported on April 15, last year.

Today’s death figure is one of the highest registered in a day since the start of 2021.
The number of hospitalizations has also increased by 10 as compared to Friday.

About 464 patients are now receiving medical treatment in hospital beds after their conditions deteriorated. The patients are among the 29, 471 confirmed active cases 8n the country, the report indicates.

It also shows about 846 patients have recuperated after contractingthevirus, bringing the recovery tally to 142, 041.

The country identified its first coronavirus case exactly a year ago on March 13, 2020. Since then, it has confirmed a total of 174, 054 infections after conducting over 2.22mln tests.
