Covid-19: Ethiopia Confirms over 1, 200 New Cases, 9 Deaths
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has reported at least 1, 202 more Covid-19 infections and 9 deaths on Tuesday, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
At least 7, 566 tests have been conducted in the past twenty-four hours to identify the new positive cases, shows the Ministry’s daily covid report.
The report also claims 9 people have passed away due to complications related to covid-19 during the period. At least 2, 451 people has died since the first COVID-19 related death confirmed in the country on April 15, last year l.
Currently, about 427 patients are seriously ill and getting medical treatment in various hospitals, health officials reported. They are among 26, 350 confirmed active cases in the country.
In the past 24-hours, nearly 900 covid patients have recuperated, pushing the national recovery tally to more than 139, 500.
Ethiopia confirmed its first coronavirus case on March 13 last year. Since then, the country has registered more than 168, 300 infections after conducting nearly 2.2mln tests.
