Ethiopia Records 524 More Covid-19 Cases, 9 Deaths

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has recorded 524 new covid-19 infections and 9 Covid-related deaths on Sunday, says its ministry of health.

The East African nation identified the new cases after conducting more than nearly 5, 400 tests over the past twenty-four hours.

The latest figure of people who lost their lives due to covid-19 has also pushed the death toll to 1, 994. Ethiopia confirmed its first covid death on April 5, 2020.

At least 202 patients have been hospitalized after they become severely ill, says the ministry. The current confirmed covid cases in the country stands at 12, 946.

On the same day, 79 people have regained their health after contracting the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries 113, 374.

The country has conducted more than 1.85mln testes since the start of the pandemic in March and confirmed 128, 316 cases.
