Ethiopia Records 521 More Covid-19 Infections, 9 Deaths

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia’s COVID-19 tally has reached more than 101, 000 after its Ministry of Health reported 521 new infections on Thursday.

The country conducted 5, 478 tests to identify the new positive cases over the past twenty-four hours, according to the ministry’s daily Covid-19 report.

Additional 9 Covid-related deaths were also registered on the day, pushing the total number to 1, 554.

Currently, there are 36, 424 active cases in the country. Of these, 313 people are critically ill and are receiving treatment in covid-19 medical centers, reported the ministry.

Over the past twenty-four hours, the Ministry also said at least 771 patients have regained their health from the deadly respiratory disease, taking the total number of recoveries from the virus, so far, to 63, 268.

To date, the East African country has conducted close to 1.55 million laboratory tests, and confirmed 101, 249cases.
