Ethiopia Reports 712 new Coronavirus Cases, 7 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 712 new cases of coronavirus on Monday and 17 related deaths on Wednesday, reported ministry of Health.

At least 7, 121 tests were conducted over the past 24-hours to identify the new positive cases, said the ministry.

The latest figures has brought the total number of infections to 86, 430 and deaths to 1, 312.

The daily Covid-19 report also noted that there are now 44, 951 active cases in Ethiopia. Of these, 230 patients are severely ill and are currently seeking medical attention in Covid-19 health centers.

On the day, health officials said 858 patients of the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus have regained their health. The figure has taken the number of recoveries in the country so far to 40, 165.

Ethiopia has tested more than 1.37 million people since the first Covid-19 case confirmed seven months ago, on March 13, 2020.
