Ethiopia Records 0 Covid Deaths, 3 Recoveries

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has reported zero Covid-19 disease related deaths on Tuesday amid a drop in recovery rate, a ministry of health report shows.

This is for three days in a row that the nation has recorded no fatalities related to Covid-19 as the death toll stays at 7, 509.



The daily new cases total has continued to outnumber recoveries.

Only 3 patients have recovered from the disease in the past twenty-four hours, reports the ministry that confirmed confirmed 12 new infections from nearly 5, 300 people tested for the Coronavirus in the same period.

Both figures of recovery and new cases, however, are among the lowest that the country recorded since the onset of 2022.

There are now 18 severely sick patients getting treatment in hospitals. They are among the 9, 011 confirmed active cases in the nation, according to the report.

– Vaccine Drive at standstill –

The vaccination pace is at a standstill with the ministry report showing zero additional shots of Covid-19 vaccine given on Tuesday.



Ethiopia has administered over 29.41 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine. Over 24.5 million people are also fully vaccinated against the virus.

The vaccination campaign started a year after health officials reported Ethiopia’s first Coronavirus case in March, 2020. To date, it has confirmed 470, 108 infections, and 453, 586 recoveries.
