Ethiopia Registers 586 new COVID-19 Cases; 26 Deaths

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has reported 583 new cases of COVID-19 infections on Monday, bringing the total number of cases to 19, 289.

The patients identified from 6907 individuals tested for COVID-19, a respiratory illness caused by coronavirus, over the past twenty-four hours, according to the Ministry of Health.



Health officials also reported that 26 patients of COVID-19 have died during the period. That latest figure has taken the death toll to 236.

Currently, there are more than 11, 000 active cases in the country. Of these patients, 145 are hospitalized and in severe condition.

The ministry also said 330 patients have recovered from the disease, taking the recovery cases in the country to 7931.

To date, the east African nation has tested 444, 226 individuals for the virus.
