Ethiopia Records 805 New COVID-19 Cases; 10 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia on Thursday reported 805 new COVID-19 cases including 10 death, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country so far to more than 16, 600.

County’s Ministry of Health identified the new cases after testing 9786 people for COVID-19, a respiratory disease caused by coronavirus, over the past twenty-four.

The ministry also noted 10 people passed away due to the disease, taking the death toll to 263.

The East African nation currently has 9587 active cases.

According to the ministry of health, 134 of these patients are “in Severe condition” and are receiving medical treatment.

Health officials also said that 78 patients have recovered in the past twenty-four hours. To date, 6763 patients who tested positive for Covid-19 have recovered from the virus.

Ethiopia confirmed its first case of Covid-19 on March 13. Since then, the country has conducted a total of 413, 397 COVID-19 tests and so far confirmed 16, 615.
