Ethiopia Reports 610 New Coronavirus Cases, 14 deaths

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia on Wednesday reported 610 new coronavirus infections, taking the toll to 15, 810.

Health officials tested 7,760 individuals to identify the latest cases.

The Ministry of Health reported 14 people to have died coronavirus–related deaths, taking the total number of fatalities to 253.

Meanwhile, the ministry noted 159 additional patients to have recovered from COVID-19. To date, 6,685 patients have recovered from the disease.

The number of active cases remains high, ministry of health’s report shows.

Currently, there are 8,870 active cases in the country. Of these, 66 are under severe conditions and receiving treatment in intensive care units, according to health officials.

Ethiopia has so far conducted 403,611 laboratory tests.
