Ethiopia Records 555 New Coronavirus Cases, 9 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 555 new coronavirus infections on Saturday, bringing the tally to 13, 248, according to the Ministry of Health.

Over the past twenty-four hours, up to 8490 individuals have been tested for COVID-19, a respiratory illness caused by coronavirus.



The ministry of health said 555 people tested positive for the virus.

Officials also reported that there were 9 more deaths recorded over the past twenty-four hours, with total fatalities now at 209.

There are now 7071 active cases in Ethiopia, said the ministry of health, adding that 66 of them are in severe condition.

It also said at least 181 patients recovered from the disease over the past 24- hours.

The East African nation tested 372, 812 individuals so far, and confirmed over 13, 000 cases since the first case confirmed on March 13.
