Ethiopian Road Authority to Digitize its services with INSA’s Help

ADDIS ABABA – The Ethiopian road authority has signed an agreement with the information network security agency (INSA) to digitalize its services.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed on Tuesday would help digitalize the whole system of the Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA).

It would also help to drive the development of the competency model works that initiated by the authority, said Habtamu Tegegn, director-general of ERA.

The authority says it’s implementing a variety of institutional changes and operational efficiency models, to create a conducive work environment.

With the help of the new agreement, INSA will support International Business Machines (IBM) – a global technology company – to identify sectors that can be supported in the use of modern technologies including cloud-based services and cognitive computing.

Director-general Habtamu said the comprehensive work will help to modernize ERA’s facility, accessibility of its service, and avoid previous barriers to its services.

INSA will finish the work within the deadline as part of an effort to enhance its relationship with government institutions, said Shumete Gizaw(Ph.D.), the director-general of INSA.
