ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has reported nineteen additional cases of coronavirus today, with the tally of confirmed cases exceeding 300 mark.
More than 4, 000 people have been tested for COVID-19, a disease caused by coronavirus, over the past twenty-four hours.
Nineteen of them confirmed positive for the virus, the Ministry of Health said in a daily report issued for today.
The Ministry described the newly identified patients as Ethiopian nationals with their age ranging from 16 to 55 years.
The majority of the patients (11) were identified from a quarantine center located in the capital of Somali regional state, Jigjiga City.
The others are from Addis Ababa (2) as well as Oromia (2), Tigray (3) and Amhara (1) regional states.
The Ministry also reported one patient from Oromia region has recovered from the virus, taking the number of recoveries in Ethiopia so far to 113.
About 306 cases of COVID-19, including five deaths, have been confirmed since the first case identified in Ethiopia on March 13, 2020.
