Over 980 Ethiopians Repatriated from Saudi

ADDIS ABABA – More than 980 Ethiopian nationals have been repatriated from Saudi Arabia on Friday, officials say.

Today’s repatriation, carried out for the third day this week, has involved three flights.

A total of 983 citizens including five children have arrived at Addis Ababa airport today, said the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs. All the repatriates are male, it added.

“The returnees have been taken to a Shelter Centre where they will get support and care,” the ministry added.

The ongoing repatriation effort started to bring Ethiopians living in difficult situations in Saudi Arabia on March 30, 2022. More than 18, 900 have come back to their homeland, so far.
