Coronavirus: One More Case Identified in Ethiopia
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has confirmed one additional coronavirus case, increasing the number of patients in the country to 12.
The latest case is a 34 year old Ethiopian who came to Ethiopia from Dubai on March 19, 2020.
The patient went to a health facility on March 22 when he felt the symptoms of COVID-19, the Ministry of Health said today.
The health facility reported to the Ethiopian public health institute and the laboratory result confirmed positive, added the ministry.
“The patient is under medical treatment in the designated treatment center and he is in a stable condition,” said Dr. Lia Tadesse, Minister of health.
Fifteen people who had contact with the patient are under follow up, the minister added.
The number of patients has reached double digits on Sunday with imported cases dominating the list.
The increase has forced the country to impose wide-ranging of measures including enforcing a 14-day mandatory quarantine period for all travelers coming into the country.
