ADDIS ABABA – Eritrea has confirmed its first coronavirus case, its information minister said on Saturday.
The patient “arrived at Asmara International Airport from Norway with Fly Dubai at 7:00 a.m,” Minister Yemane Meskel said on Twitter.
The 39-year-old was an Eritrean national with permanent residence in Norway and was undergoing treatment, he said.
“The patient is quarantined promptly following a screening process at the airport and diagnosed positive for COVID-19,” he said.
The minister said the patient is currently receiving all necessary treatment.
