ECX Starts Trading Niger Seed

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia Commodity Exchange (ECX) announces on Thursday it has started trading Niger Seed in its modern trading platform.

The product becomes the tenth agricultural commodity to join ECX’s modern marketing system.

“The addition of Nigger Seed in the modern trading system can help reduce the illegal transactions, and foster the country’s export trade,” said the ECX in a statement.

The Ethiopia Commodity Exchange’s branches in Addis Ababa, Saris, Bure, Nekemte, Gondar, Kombolcha, Assosa and Pawi are ready to receive Niger seed, it added.

Ethiopia is one of the centers of biodiversity for several oilseeds which can be considered as specialty high-value seeds on the international market, according to traders.
