Türkiye Businesses encouraged to Invest in Ethiopia

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) chief Hanna Arayaselassie has encouraged visiting Turkish businesses to invest in the East African nation.

The EIC held the Ethiopia-Türkiye Investment and Trade promotion forum in Addis Ababa on Thursday. The event brought together twenty-three Turkish investors from Sakarya, the 7th largest investment-focused city in Türkiye.

The newly appointed EIC commissioner Hanna briefed the investors about the multifaceted investment opportunities in Ethiopia.

She also made a case for doing business in the country pointing out its growing domestic market and economy, and strategic location as the gateway to Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

During the discussion, the investors expressed their interest in engaging in agriculture, iron and steel, textile, and automotive industry, among others.

The Commissioner pledged the EIC’s full support of providing end-to-end services easing the way of doing business for prospective investors.

The EIC organized the forum jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association.
