‘Dine for Generations’: PM launches ‘Niin Lee Palm Spring Lodge’ Project in Afar

ADDIS ABABA – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed launched the ‘Niin Lee Palm Spring Lodge’ development project in the Afar Region under the Dine For Generations initiative.

The project is among seven projects to be built through the third Prime Ministerial tourism sector development initiative.

The initiative is a continuation of the previous ‘Dine for Sheger’ and ‘Dine for Ethiopia’ initiatives that helped to build various projects in Addis Ababa as well as Koysha, Wonchi, and Gorgora.

The PM announced the ‘Dine For Generations’ projects in March with the aim of developing tourism destinations nationally.

Two private investors will also develop in Benishangul Gumuz and the South West region under the initiative.

The construction of the Arba Minch Resort and Denbi Lake Lodge projects have already started in July and Oct, respectively.

Both are scheduled to be completed in a year and half, per the PM Office.

On Saturday, PM Abiy laid the foundation stone for the third Niin Lee Palm Spring Lodge project during his visit to Afar region along with federal government officials.

The visit also saw the official launching of the annual summer wheat production in the region at Dubti district.

“In Dubti Woreda, the community is getting prepared to cultivate summer wheat on 8,000 hectares of land,” the PM Office says, adding: it is a part of the annual national wheat production push to cultivate 3 million hectares of summer wheat this year.
