Japan Assists the School Project in Dawro Zone

A Japanese grant to support a Model Primary School expansion project in the Dawro Zone of South-West Ethiopia Peoples regional state.

The grant contract was signed between Japan’s ambassador to Ethiopia ITO Takako and the General Manager of Dawro Development Association Mulugeta Bezabih on Monday.

The 76,274 US Dollars was granted through the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).

The expansion project will enable all about 500 students to get a proper learning environment, says the Embassy of Japan in Addis Ababa.

The GGP grant has helped the implementation of over 400 grassroots development projects across Ethiopia since its introduction in 1989, per the embassy.

These projects focus on areas such as education, access to water and sanitation, economic growth, health, and food security.
