PM Abiy Confers with South Sudan President Kiir in Addis

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has today held talks with South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir over bilateral and regional issues.

President Kiir came to Addis Ababa for a one day working visit which, his office said, was aimed at strengthening the relations between the two countries.

Abiy and Kiir discussed a range of issues during a working lunch held at the Office of the Prime Minister.

The PM office says the discussions covered trade, and infrastructure development as well as regional peace and security issues.

“As neighbors with common regional interests, we will continuously strengthen our cooperation,” Abiy said in a tweet.
