Japan Honers Ex Ethiopian Karate Fed VP with ‘Order of the Rising Sun’

ADDIS ABABA – Japan has announced that Ethiopian Karate Federation’s Former Vice President Elias Abi Chacra will be conferred with its “Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays” decoration this year.

The prestigious commendation is Japan’s oldest national decoration, dating back to 1875, and is a distinguished honor bestowed upon international leaders.

The Government of Japan decided to confer the decoration on Elias “for his contribution to promoting Karate in Ethiopia and enhancing friendly relations between Japan and Ethiopia,” the Embassy of Japan disclosed on Wednesday.
